Administrative Practice Assistant (Part-Time)
Thomas Mamer LLP is seeking a part-time Administrative Practice Assistant to join our established law firm in Champaign, Illinois. This position provides essential administrative and office support to attorneys and staff and is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual interested in supporting a professional legal environment on a flexible, part-time basis.
This is an hourly, non‑exempt position, working approximately 10–20 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Administrative Practice Assistant provides administrative and office support to the firm, including:
- Assisting attorneys and staff with routine administrative tasks, including assembling packets, preparing simple binders, organizing supplies, and coordinating logistics for meetings.
- Performing general office and data entry tasks, including scanning, copying, filing (electronic and hard copy), document formatting, labeling, and updating spreadsheets and contact lists.
- Providing reception and phone coverage as needed, including answering and routing calls, greeting visitors, managing conference room reservations, and processing incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and courier pickups.
- Running local errands, such as mail drops, bank deposits, supply runs, and hand-deliveries.
- Supporting other administrative or operational tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some general office or administrative experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to learn firm systems, including copiers, scanners, phone systems, and document management tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage shifting priorities.
- Reliable transportation to perform local errands.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including sustained periods of sitting or standing, frequent phone use, and safely lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds.
Pay and Work Schedule
Hourly pay range: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 10–20 hours per week
Benefits: This position eligible for paid time off.
